A picture can say a thousand words...

What would you do if you saw a picture of yourself as a child, and you find it in the most odd place? How would you feel about that? How would you feel is it was hanging in a home you had never been in? Especially, with someone you thought you hated? You see in that picture a little version of you, and you wonder how you do not remember this day? How would you react?

New blog

 I started a new blog on wordpress. I am hoping that all of you will follow me there! I have been unable to get my blogger account to show comments, or let most of you interact with me. I apologize for this, I had no clue. So please follow me through this journey that you have stuck with me so far! I hope that you all just bear with me through the learning curves of this ride. Charming randomness is the new blog, and Dee King is my name on wordpress, too. I really hope you all will stick with me! Party Time!

    Have you ever been to a party, or a gathering and it changed your life? Maybe you have been somewhere and in one night your world changed?

I felt like in my life, I have been to many parties or gathering's that have changed my aspect of my life. I decided that in this book, I would take from my real life situation's and apply them to this novel. Adding in a fantasy life for this book, was the only way I wanted to do this. I know from reading novel's that had a fantasy twist to it, I was able to leave my own little world, and believe that fantasies can come true. Do you have a fantasy? Sometime's the real world can be such a sad place, you sometime's need to run away from that. I wanted people who read my book, to feel that  you could  run away in your mind to another place and time. I may have wrote this for a young genre, but I truly felt that everyone can relate to high school drama, and the life you want after you graduate. 
Maybe you are still in high school, or college, and you think you know what is going to happen after you graduate, but imagine that one night change's your life forever? We may often feel that we know everything, and that we know what we want, but do we really? Do we really know our future? No. I know that we want the best for our future, but often circumstance's change our live's. You have the right to be whomever you want, and make the life you want for yourself. Make sure you always listen to your heart, and try to do what you feel is best!

      I do not remember a time ever looking in the mirror and thinking I was remotely as pretty as my friend's. Today, for the first time I can see a glow about myself. I feel alive. Realizing who I truly am. I have no clue what it actually means to be a Goddess, but I think I can picture it for  the first time.

Making me frustrated!

I thought this morning I would share a picture with you guys, but I guess blogger has other idea's. Since that is unavailable this morning I thought I would give some insight into my book today, and see what you all think?
 When I started writing this book, I literally had one sentence in my mind that I knew I wanted to tell a story with. Exactly, one sentence. As I started to type the words just came. I had no idea how the book was going to go, I just had this one idea. I have always liked to tell stories, and I felt like I could run away with this story. I started thinking if I was in high school, and it was the end of my senior year what would I have done differently? Then, it went from there. I have really liked reading anything that was not of the normal. I loved Twilight. Yes, I said that! I read it, and I loved it! Then from there I wanted to read anything that was not of the real world so to speak. Then Selene, came to me. This character who I could relate to, yet I wanted to be. I knew then that I had a story I wanted to tell. The genre I am writing is young adult. I have been asked many times, why young adult? Honestly, I started the story in a young adult state of mind. As Selene grows older so will the books. I think back on how maybe if I had done this or that differently where would I be now? Then I thought about how everything happens for a reason. I figured with Selene, she could go to places I wanted, yet I could also stay grounded to what was important to me.

       Selene has some hard choice's to make in her life. Chose a love, chose a life that she wasn't prepared for, and chose to do what she feels is right. In the process of this, she learns about herself, and what she wants from this life. There will be twists and turns you may not see coming. I went to a darker place with the book. I wanted it to grab me, as I had been grabbed in some many books I have read. Using the word Charming I chose it for many reasons. As you read you will understand too. I also wanted to write a book about how not everything can seem as it is. A lot of people see thing's in black and white, I see thing's in the grey. What if this? What if that? I ask many questions, and I felt like maybe going into that fantasy world I could see how many other people like to live in the grey area's too? Sometimes living in color is the only way to live. I feel like we all need an escape. I chose this as my escape.

       I also want to remind you that I have a sarcastic view on life too. I felt that comes across in my book. I like to make others laugh, because I really feel laughter is the best medicine we can all use! I watch video's on my YouTube channel, and I share those. Often, so you can have a laugh too. Check it out if you need a laugh too!

Some days..

     Some days you may feel like you just want to throw in the towel. Everything is piling up, and you feel you are barely staying afloat. Believe me, when I say that I understand this all too well. I also know that going through the trials we go through, we learn from these. Sometimes, I am not sure of what we are learning or suppose to learn from this? Yet, we hang in there to hopefully see the rainbow at the end of the storm. For every step  you take, you can often take two steps back. I often wonder why in the world does this have to have happen to me? I am sure you have felt the same. I am here to tell you that it can get better. Even though through the storm you feel that your umbrella is broken the storm will pass. "This to shall pass.." is the phrase, and it will. Just remember that you can DO this! You are going to come through the storm, and know that you were not defeated! We all struggle. We all need to cry some days, and that's okay too. If the only thing you take away from this blog today I would want you to take this.. The storm will pass, and you will see that rainbow. It may take time, but in the end you will know that you weathered the storm and YOU made it!!
    These were my heart felt words today. I hope that you find your rainbow.

When I first started this blog, all I wanted was to make people happy. I have became excited to see the views every day.. I look at my audience numbers, and that thrills me. I have people in Germany, Poland, and other countries reading my blog. Who would have ever imagined that little old me, behind the screen could reach so many people. It's fun! I enjoy sharing my thoughts with each of you, and I enjoy sharing my book. I think I talk about such random thing's that I always thought no one would read what I had to say. BUT LOOK! Look at you guys! Reading my randomness! I am so thrilled to say that here shortly, with your help we (you and I) will reach a very high number in views! This blog is to thank you guys again!! Part 2 introducing characters

Everyday..

       Everyday we run through our normal routines, and go on with our lives. Life just does not stop, even if you want it too. We sit in our little bubbles, by our time, and never stop to smell the rose's. I think sometimes we become self absorbed, instead of thinking outside the box. We have to learn to step out of our little boxes and see what is around us. As the phrase says, we must stop and smell the rose's. In my book, I wanted to step out of the box. I wanted to open my mind. Maybe, to see, if you lived a normal life, then one day you just were living in some sort of fantasy. Yet, the fantasy, was not what you had dreamed of. All you really want is your old, normal life back, but you can't go back. Now, you have a new life, and that has to become the new norm. If you were given a week to decide who you love, and how you want your future to go, could you decide that? Could you make such a big choice? If you made the wrong choice, then others could suffer? 
     We all dream of having this "better life", but what if the better life was not what you had thought it was going to be? I felt like everyone wants to always know if the grass is greener on the other side, then when they find out the grass is still the same color, how do you react? DO you make the right choice for love, or do you make the right choice because you don't know anything else besides your old life? Everyone is searching for love. Whether, we like it or not, everyone just wants to be loved, and feel loved. Selene has to make choice's that will change her life forever. Does she chose love, or does she chose what she has always known? That is the question?

I am working hard..

  I find it hard to believe that so many of you read my blog! It's so exciting to get to know that many of you out in the big wide world web, can even see this??? It's funny.. years ago people would have never thought this to be a way to communicate with others, and now look? Technology is truly amazing!! I still remember when all we had was AOL and everyone was on that.. now look how far we have come. My blog has reached people in Malaysia, Germany, Russia...and I just have to say that I find this so exciting. This blog is to thank you! Thank you for reading my words of wisdom, oh, who are we kidding my words or randomness is what I should say. I am surely not the words of wisdom. I am just someone who likes to share... I soon hope to have people that would like to follow me on my blog.. I know that's my goal in all of this.. comments etc.. You have something to say, well let's hear it? I would like to discuss anything and everything. Maybe I should tell more people about myself, but really I am just a woman trying to get by in this day to day thing we call life. Writing a book has been a great outlet for me. The book is fantasy, paranormal, and a little bit of my life.. Writing Charming Selene has been great. I am looking forward to publishing and writing the other two to finish her story. I will soon be explaining more of my book, and maybe giving you some insight into my world.. Actually, Selene's world..
 Hopefully, you all will stay with me through this.. I am still new, and this is still a work in progress.. but maybe we will grow together!!

Days ahead...

When I see this picture I am reminded of the waves at the beach, and all the times I sat there watching them crash on the shore line. I would just sit there, lost in them, losing track of time. When I was a toddler I guess my parents took me quiet a bit. I don't remember that, but when I finally got to see the ocean again for the first time I was just in love. It was like nobody was even around, just me and the waves. I think finding anywhere that can give you peace, is an amazing place to be. I do remember going to the mountains as a child, and finding peace in the cabin in Colorado. I don't think you have to go somewhere to find peace, you can find peace anywhere. Maybe it's at your home? Maybe it's at the park? Wherever you feel at peace is where you will find your soul. You will feel refreshed. I think I now find peace sitting on my couch with my little family. Watching their faces smile, and laugh gives your heart peace. I think today I am remembering a time that I thought life was so hard, yet so carefree. Maybe the hippies had it right? Just love, peace, and being themselves? Everybody wants to feel carefree. No bills, no problems, no drama. Today, if you feel that you need some peace in your life, just search deep within, and you will find that peace. The answers are always there, we just have to look inside. On that note, I hope you find your peace today, and every day ...

About me

                                                 About Me....
I am not sure where to even start, but here goes? My name is Dee. Actually, that's a nickname that I have had for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a small town in Texas. Maybe not as small as I had believed it was when I was teenage, but small compared to let's say Dallas. Wichita Falls is about two hours from Dallas. It always seemed so small compared to the big city. I wasn't born in Texas, and I use to pride myself on being born in Florida. Now, that I am an adult I can not seem to get away from saying I'm from Texas. In the time I grew up in Wichita Falls I went to three elementary schools, one junior high, and one high school. High school seems such a distant memory, yet I can remember walking the halls like it was yesterday. I can vividly remember cruising Kemp Street. That was what you did on Friday nights. Now, no one can afford the gas so maybe everyone hangs out at one of the Taco Bell's? During football season you go to the football games. That is what you do in Texas. You live for Friday night lights. Except if your a girl, then you lived to hopefully see the boy/guy you liked at the game. That was what I remember about football games, anyway. After graduation everyone was trying to find themselves, going to college, traveling the world. I took a different route. I moved to Florida for a year, then to Georgia. ATL!! Then back home to Texas. I met a guy. He was so cute. I married that guy. He was in the Army, that means I became an Army wife. Well, the cute boy went to Korea and I moved to live with his parents while he was gone. Now, when I say I came from a small town... I had no clue what that meant till I got to the midwest. Missouri to be exact. I remember crying wanting to go home, to Texas, but I had come to far to turn back now. So, the cute boy, my husband he comes back after 9/11. I was so very happy to have him safe and home. We moved to a military post, and started a life together. We started a family. Our world flipped upside down when my husband got hurt during his military service. We had a baby girl, and no clue where or what we were going to do. Then we decided to raise our daughter around   family. Back to Missouri we came. Soon we had baby number two! What a ride that was. Two beautiful angel girls, a husband in college, and me losing my mind. Life began and I was barely noticing. I became the Mom I should and wanted to be. I was the PTA type mom. I was even  president of a group for a couple of years. Now, well now, we are here. Me trying to finally fulfill a dream I have had, and trying to raise a family. I enjoy life. I enjoy my friends. I enjoy making others laugh. I live a pretty simple life, yet I live a good life. I am blessed to have the one's I call family (even if they are my friends) and I am blessed to know others care about my journey when they don't have to. This is me. Just plain old me..

Excited!!!

              Tomorrow there will be a surprise posted to my blog! A video! The video will show you my book in pictures so to speak. This will be the first of many new items I will be adding. I am excited to share this with you all. The name of my book, and the main character will be revealed. I will also be adding some new music to playlist. I am taking requests so to speak?
       I also plan on introducing myself, and where you can find me. Via Facebook/Twitter... I always try to answer everyone back. Working on this book of mine is probably the hardest, yet most fun I have had. I will be doing interviews with some up and coming new authors too. So stick with me, the adventure has just begun.

Storms Raging

    Yesterday I was not feeling very well. Today, I am feeling back to my old self! I am not sure that is a bonus for most, but at least I have my thought process back. Today I will have 2 blog posts as I usually try to do. This is my first entry for today, and I keep thinking about the weather. We are expected to have a possibility of severe weather. That always gets me excited. You may be thinking why? Well, tomorrow I will go into a little about myself, but I grew up in Tornado Alley. For most, the weather, the severe weather makes them nervous. I just do not feel that. I get excited. Now, that being said, I do not ever want anyone to be harmed or hurt. That is the last thing anyone should want. I just like the anticipation process. This will play a part in my book. I love a good storm, but I like it better if you know what a storm feels like. Example. Have you ever been so mad that you feel like a storm is raging inside of you? Well, sometimes you have to release all of that. It may hit like a tornado, but you still had to let it out. Afterwards, you pick up the debris, and start a new day. This is life. For every action there is a reaction. Let your actions speak loud. Live your life as you seem fit. Let the storms roll in, and roll out. Feel the power you have in your own hands. Use them for the greater good. Everyone has a story. Are you going to just let the storm inside brew or are you going to let it out, and start a new day? BE STRONG! Be yourself, and as above, let your storm out! Your story isn't finished just yet!!

Tattoos

Tattoo's can really speak volumes...

                                               Often we see something on someone and we think to ourselves that is cool.
Maybe you think "I could never do that?" or maybe you think "Are they crazy? I would never do that!"
Either way, a lot of the time we wish we had the courage to do something, but we do not. You sit by watching everyone else, while here you are dreaming of what you want. When do you/me decide to take the leap? When do you say today is the day? Well, let today be that day. Don't let someone stop you from doing something you feel passionate it about! We may have people who will say "You can't do that" or "I can not believe they did that!" BUT who cares what others think. You have to find that goal, and reach for it. It's like a tattoo. People will say whatever they want, but if you love it, then that's all that matters!! So you be you! GO! Go reach for that GOAL! No matter how big or small!

Today, I am sharing the first teaser photo with you all! My readers! This is a scene created from my book. It may not look like much at the moment, but there is a lot in this picture. Does it have you guessing what does this mean? Well, good! The flowers are fire and ice rose's. Which could be important?  The home is of a character. Not the same character that you heard the play list from, but a different character. When I had started to write this story I was unsure of what the home of a main character would look like. With the help of my dear friend, this is the image she created for the book to start to come to life. This may or may not be the title, please remember this is a teaser photo.

Playlist Tuesday

                                    Who inspired me to write a book........

                       Let's be real today. Everyone has someone that has inspired them in their lives. Today, I want to share my inspiration as an author. Rachel Caine. She is the author of the Weather Warden Series, and The Morganville Vampires series. I had the opportunity to meet Rachel at the RT Convention this past year in Kansas City, MO. I, (the dork that I am) started crying like a pathetic nerd. I literally broke down in front of this woman from excitement. Now, let me say this, before taking the courage to do that I had just met Richelle Mead, Veronica Roth, and was working for the infamous Lora Leigh that day, but meeting Rachel I became a blubbering idiot. Now, let me back this up. Meeting the authors that day was truly a memorable day for me. Truly. I had held it together with the others, and had acted professional. Well, as professional as I could, but when I had the chance to walk to her table. I just started crying. Like a baby. It was embarrassing. I am a grown woman, and I hear I was crying. Well, needless to say, she was amazing. After that day I had started thinking that maybe I could take the leap and finally write down some of the stories in my head. So, here we are. I have a book that is half way done, and I am excited to see my work become a reality. I can only hope that I can inspire someone to live their dreams as I am trying to. The way that Rachel had inspired me. One day can change your life, and hopefully that one day for you is soon. OR maybe that day has happened for you, and your living your dream daily.
