Something changed...

It's been a while since I have blogged, and yesterday I posted a video of my daughter sharing the reason why she wants to VLOG. Now, this summer has been a huge difference in what all has taken place, and fortunately I have been able to share in these moments with my children. Every summer I take off from writing and spend that with my girls, because it's the only time I have with them like this. Sure, there's many people who think less of me for doing this and or have an opinion, but this is all I have to say to them.. It's not your life. Being a mother is one of the greatest joys I have ever known, and if I get the chance to spend multiple days with my children, then I am taking it. I do apologize for not being on here as much as others do, but again, when you have two kids who need and want to talk to you, well, that comes first.

With all of that being said, I will be back here very shortly. There is so much worth sharing. If you didn't get the chance to watch my daughter's video I urge you to hear what she has to say. In my next blog, I will also discuss the reasons behind the video and what it means for her to have done this..

Don't get me wrong, there have been moments this summer where I have literally thought, "Just shoot me now.." On dealing with them fighting, arguing, you touched me first, etc.. But I honestly wouldn't give up all of that for nothing. Time is precious. One day they won't care about hanging out with their old mom, they won't need me like they do now, and one day all of this will be just fond memories, but I want to cherish these memories as they come.

Thank you for understanding.. Like I always say, I have the best fans/friends in the world. You do not go unseen.

Time Flies...

I have been so out of it lately that everything is flying by me. I had a lot going on, and doesn't seem that I can make time stand still yet. ( I am working on magical powers. Haha. Just kidding.)
Anyhow, time has been flying by, and not that I am ignoring my blog, it's just lately I can't find anything to keep current updates on. When you get stuck in a writing coma (that's what I will call it) it's hard to come out of it and share with everyone.

I have been working on the second book of the Charming Series for what seems to be forever. I am almost at the end of it though. This book is different for me, I found myself challenged more by trying to speak from the male perspective. I wanted to tell the story from Sebastian's point of view, and yet, let you still know how Selene was dealing with all that was changing in their lives.

When I first had the idea of just writing a book, I actually never thought I would go through with it. Now, I am on my third book (of writing books) and it often still feels like I am a rookie at this. I would say I am though. I don't have a college degree, I don't have people banging down my door for wanting to sign me, I don't have lots of money coming in from my books, that's just not my life. I didn't want that in many ways. All I ever wanted was to write a story that people walked away from going.. Yea, I could be that. I wanted to show the different sides of people, of myself, and more importantly, people could do anything if they wanted it bad enough.

When I get down on myself, I think of you. I go back to the times where I watched my blog numbers grow all across the globe, and how I couldn't believe people read what I was saying. Here, I am in all my nerdyness, just yapping away about things people may not even care about, yet somehow they did. The blog was supposed to always be about me talking about random things that had to do with my writing, but when I took a break from writing, I wondered if people would still want to read what I had to say.

You are your own worst enemy, is a phrase I think of often. I know for a fact that I am my own. No one will ever be able to tell you anything about yourself, that you don't already feel at times in your life. That's also why I talk so much about believing in yourself, and having the power to make that happen. If you can't find that within you, you won't find it anywhere else either. The sad part is that just because I am getting older, doesn't seem to always make me wiser. I want to be that person, but I find that I am often still learning.. Learning about people, learning about life, and learning that every day should be a blessing.

I am always lucky to live the life I live. It could be a thousand times worse, and I have to find some peace within myself, knowing that this is the way you should look at things. Life's not fair, life's not easy, I don't believe it was meant to be. We all have to keep pushing ourselves to do what we need to do in our lives to find the best us we can be. I am not even sure if that makes sense, but in a few words, my point would be do your best for you.

I will try and keep you all posted on the book, but as it stands I have about two chapters left to write, then edits. This story has been a long time running for me, and hopefully everyone ends up liking where the book is going to lead in the third book.

Peace, Love, and all that Jazz- Dee

To each their own..

I read different types of blogs all the time, and I know mine is very different. That's the part I pride myself on. I wanted to be unique. Let's be real for a moment shall we?

There is a blog for everything. A blog for religions, music, books, even funny videos. I started writing in this blog almost a year ago, just to share common things with every day people. Of course, I wanted to talk about books, but I found that blogging was almost like journal writing. I could just write about whatever came to mind at the time. I also thought that was the point to blog. Then I found that the more I shared the more people were living the same kind of life. I assume most people think authors are rich and or just crazy. I am not one of those things. Rich. Yep, I am crazy, but not rich. Hahaha.

Your probably wondering why am I even discussing this, and here is the reason. Because of all of you, I stay encouraged to be real. To be myself, to discuss random bull s**t with others. I guess you could say, we all know that everyone's lives aren't  peaches and cream. I know mine is not. There are days that are just bad. There are days that are fantastic. Then there are days in between. That's how I see life. Every day isn't going to be some marvelous day that we just need to share with the world. Nope, that's not going to happen.

My thoughts were that I would just say that it's okay that days aren't always great. We need to remember the good days in between. Taking a little time for us to breathe, to catch our breath, take the time. Take time for yourself, take time to share your love with others. Everyone needs a moment to reflect, and everyone needs to know that they aren't alone. Some days we will feel alone. This is normal. You are alone at times. That's okay too.

Today, my mind is focused on something, I didn't think it would. I have a big decision to make, and my fear is if I do one thing I will lose who I am, if I don't do it, I may never know. We all have to make hard choices in our lives, even on the days we seem to think are random.

You just never know what opportunity will be knocking on your door, if you always searching for something. Finding yourself, in the bore of every day life, then someone knocks and you are left with a decision.

I am encouraged by all of you, knowing that I can do anything I put my heart and soul into. Even on the boring days, it's still a day I woke up, and am alive.
Try to remember on the random days, that this is life. That we are alive, and today may not be so boring after all.

It's that time again..

It's that time where we start really looking forward to the weekend. What will be doing? What do we have going on? Will we be able to relax? Many questions come on Thursdays. We try and get everything together, and we try to make plans. Sometimes, we have a lot to get done on the weekend, and others we just chill.

This weekend I am spending it in my home town. This is not something I look forward to always, but I do like the idea of going home this time. A road trip is just what I need right now. A break before I have to publish two books, and a break where I need to refresh. The last time I was there, I wasn't even writing my first book. This time I am now an author, and in the process of publishing two more books. That seems odd when it was only a couple of years ago.

It's funny how time flies, and how life happens. We may not know then what our future holds, but we can always look forward to it. The last time I was there, I was scared. I was nervous. I hadn't been home in so long that I didn't know what to expect. I had left without looking back many years ago, and going back there was like a time warp for me. I never wanted to stay in that town forever. I use to feel sorry for the people who never left there. They never got to see the world, or hell out of the state. I didn't want that for my life then. When we went back it was crazy how much had changed, yet not much at all. I drove around to all the old places I use to hang. My house I grew up in, the schools I went too, and even some bad memory places. Walking into places that I had known as a teenager seemed so different as an adult. No longer so big, so small, just places. I wanted to walk through the home I had grown up in, but that wasn't going to happen. My parents no longer lived there.. I wanted to see my bedroom, the closet where all my writings and drawings had hung. I wanted to lay on my old bed, and try to remember the good times. That wasn't going to happen either.

There was a part of me that really wanted to run away when I was a teenager, and I did just that. I ran away. I ran to another home, and a year and half later I was back in that same damn town.. then a month later I left, and I never returned till two years ago. People say that it couldn't have been that bad? They are right. It wasn't that bad.. but back then, I just wanted to be free. I wanted to be myself, I wanted to be who I wanted to be without people remembering who I had been. I wanted to run away and make a life outside of those walls I felt that were crushing me. I did do that. At eighteen I left, and at nineteen I left again..

I married very young, had children, and made my own life. I made my own world. Only the past is always going to be somewhere in your memory. You can run, but it's when you face your past that you can move on. Going there doesn't make me sad or happy. It just completes my circle of my life. Seeing the ones I love, is what makes me want to go back. It's also what keeps me here. It's easy to be someone across the internet. It's easy to say nice things, pretend you care, but it's not easy when your face to face. Memories flood over me, good and bad. I try to keep the tears at bay, but they often escape when I don't want them to. I don't want the pity, because I did everything to myself. I chose the life I live now. I love my life.

As an adult we look back and see all the mistakes we made. All the I'm sorry's we should have said. All the It was my FAULT, all the.. I love you's never spoken. I should have been a better person then, I should have seen that I was loved, but I didn't. I had to learn that on my own in time. I have learned who loves me, who cares, and whom I love. This time I go to my hometown knowing that I faced my past, I moved on, and I learned that I am better for it. Everyone has a past, and it's what we do with our memories to who we become. We could all live in the sad, no one loved me, or the happy I was so popular days, but what does that say about you. Don't live in the past, live in the now. And the now is where I live. Whatever comes from memory lane, is always worth the trip, it teaches me that I am okay. I was always okay, and I will always be a better person for the life I have lived........

Teachers can be awesome

If you think back in the time you were in school, we all had a teacher that                                              made a difference in our lives. May be you had a couple of favorite teachers, but there was always one that stuck out to me. I can name three off the top of my head that changed my life. My favorite teacher became my high school counselor. She helped me more than I think she realized.

Mrs. Hicks is her name. She had pushed me to be whomever I wanted to be. She pushed everyone, though. I remember sitting in her office, one day, after I had ran away from home the first time. She was the one who sat there with me as I cried, and told me that I was better than this. That my grades were slipping and that had never happened before, and she wasn't going to let it happen that day either. That talk changed my life. I knew what I wanted and I had lost track of that. Anyone can be a teacher, but there are some out there that can be life changers.

Today, this blog post is about a teacher who has made an impact on the students in his school's lives. We all need a little "funk" in our lives. This is something those students won't forget. It could be life changing for them. It may have been fun, but this shows his dedication to his students. Today, I leave you with a great video of a teacher with his students. We may not all be teachers, but we can always be a mentor to someone. Find your place in this world, it's worth it.

There will be blood...

I thought today I would share a new teaser with you all from my new book, Enchanted Legacy, due out in the Spring. Speaking of Spring it reminds me of how warm it is then. Today, with temperatures plummeting into the negatives, it's Spring I am dreaming of. Stay warm out there folks, and if you happen to live somewhere where it's nice and warm. You are lucky.

Now, back to the teaser photo, I have shared. This book is going to be different than what people are expecting from me. This is a dark, fantasy, novel.
My first stand alone novel, as it is. I wanted to write a book that reminded me of one my favorite love stories, yet a tragic love story. Romeo and Juliet.
This is my take on that concept.
No one will ever compare to Shakespeare and they shouldn't try. That's why I wrote this. I wanted something different, I wanted something that you could sink your teeth into, so to speak.
I wanted to write true feelings on how sometimes the world isn't always on our side, and we have to make our own paths.
We have to make our lives for the better.
Not letting others bring us down, pull us down, and overall, learn who we want to be. I often find myself wondering why everything goes wrong at once, or why when everything seems right, something goes wrong.
How do we overcome the shit that gets thrown at us. Everyone has a story. Everyone has the ability to fight for what they want, what they believe and fight to be accepted for who you are. This book also has a character in it, I became very fond of.

As I started writing this story I wanted this character. He had to be in a book. It may not be what people want, and I may take quite a bit of slack for writing a character like this, but I didn't care.
I hope that when Spring does arrive you will fall in love with this book as much as I have. You may even recognize yourself in this one. Fight for what you want, don't let others try to sway you into being something your not. BE YOU! Believe in yourself, and the power to be awesome just the way you are. See you on the dark side, my friends..

Not sure..

Hi all.. I feel like I have been locked away for a while, trying to work very hard on projects I have coming soon. I thought I would share one of the big ones with you all.

Charming Selene will soon be available on paperback! (Yepee!!) With a brand new cover! I am so thrilled to actually see my work in print.. I can't imagine how it will be the day I hold the book.

Second I am writing again, and all of that will be revealed too. I won't say if it's the second to the Charming Series, but I do have a date for that also.

Third, life gets in the way sometimes. I often find that as I write my worries disappear for a moment, but then back in reality, I am stuck in a hard place. I find it harder to write some days when I feel like walls are closing in on me.

I recently finished a book series I was reading, and I am almost done with another book that I had promised to read. I will let you know about that too on my next blog post. I also am working on new playlist music. It's one of my favorite things about writing, is the music I love. I have found writing this new book, (oops) that I have listened to a little heavier music than I am use to. I hope to have all of these things ready to go for you all very soon. In October I will reveal everything.. I am excited to always share with you all first!
